Last year, Jon Pyzel told us that John Florence rides the same boards at all three Vans Triple Crown of Surfing venues — Haleiwa, Sunset, and Pipeline. We wanted to see if such a task was possible for someone who isn’t the literal spawn of Poseidon. So, we put our newest Hawaiian editor and VTCS entrant Kū’i’o’okalani Young to work, and he tested John’s one-board theory across the various playing fields.
