Bands like Earth Wind & Fire, Queen and Chicago dominated the market, and there was really no room for antiquated big band sound. But the young Peter Herbolzheimer conquered the German market with his band "Rhythm Combination & Brass", relying on a funky, groovy rhythm section and stabbing brass sounds. He reinvented the big band sound by arranging, uniquely for the time, for only one saxophonist but eight brass players and large rhythm section. The result was a program that perfectly represents the sound of the 70s, and is still unique in big band history. A milestone, which we will dedicate ourselves to under the direction of Jörg Achim Keller in this livestream concert.
