The Westclox Smoke Alarm model 83079.

Hey everyone here is my latest detector that arrived this morning. The Westclox Smoke Alarm model 83079. This detector is from about 1978. Seems very accurate as I grew up with this detector. When my parents had one house and moved into another in 1981 for some reason my Dad brought this one over. It was installed in the laundry room in both homes but the one we had was 9 volt and according to Nathaniel there was one. It had a continuous shrill horn only difference is said Westclox Smoke Signal with a flame in the centre in raised lettering instead of Westclox Smoke Alarm as this one does. Maybe that is how the Canadian units were. These were popular ones back in the day here!!! Not exactly my holy grail but very much the next best thing. I wish I could set it off but this uses a 12.5V battery no longer made. And mine did not come with one or an instruction manual however it came with a package of mounting hardware and a very huge and cool looking box which is in excellent shape as the detector is too. It has no test button so it could only be tested with smoke. I will try at some point to get gator clips and do it that way. May need someone's help when the time comes I also need to get more test spray as well. I am just happy I have one of these in my collection!!!!
