A Conversation with Congressman Joe Kennedy III: Kickoff to the IOP’s JFK Leadership Series

It is time again once again for a new generation to step forward and lead. Differences are what make America special, and working collaboratively despite those differences is critical to the survival of our democracy. President Kennedy once said, "Let us not be blind to our differences – but let us also direct attention to our common interests and the means by which those differences can be resolved… our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children’s future." The Institute of Politics' new John F. Kennedy Leadership Series will examine the lessons of President Kennedy’s words and actions in uniting the country and moving the nation forward during complex times. His achievements and successes illustrate essential leadership principles. The series will explore these principles with timely discussions and pertinent guests, and by taking deep dive into the President’s own words. We’ll explore how to successfully lead in today’s complicated political landscape. Join us as we kick off the new President John F. Kennedy Leadership Series with Congressman Joseph Kennedy III, Special Envoy to Northern Ireland and former Congressman (D-MA). We'll cover a range of timely domestic and international issues, as well as explore how President Kennedy’s leadership principles might be applied to contemporary issues today. This conversation will be co-moderated by Setti Warren, Director of the Institute of Politics, and Celia Rees, Harvard College Student.
