Fun Fact: All the Years’ will release on Laura’s Birthday – Friday 29th January 2021. “We thought it was a fitting release for a birthday, as the song touches on the movement of time, looking back and being aware of how quickly it seems to go. Another quick fact: We wrote this song during UK lockdown 1, after we’d slowed down a little, we realised that it’s so easy to run from one day into the next and almost miss life and each other. The heart of the song is romantic and thought-provoking, stirring the listener to think of those that they hold the most dear. It’s a simple reminder to be thankful for every moment together. The instrumentation and production is simple, stripped back and intimate featuring just cello, acoustic guitar and upright piano. The lyrics touch on the realisation of the constant movement of time and that actually we aren’t here forever, which sounds a little ominous, but that’s the tension of love and loss – you can’t have one without the other. As a couple, this is exactly how we’ve often felt. We imagine spending our whole lives together, growing old and feeling the same way – we can’t imagine getting to a point where we wouldn’t wish to spend more time together. We don’t want to look back when we’re much older and wish that we’d had the realisation sooner, that each day and every moment together is a gift. ‘All the Years’ will be available to stream and download on all major music platforms.
