When doing stealth in PAYDAY2, damage is often considered to be irrelevant: any enemy that has not yet been alerted will die in 1 hit, regardless of his health, and your weapon's damage. However, as usual there are many hidden mechanics in PAYDAY, and one of them benefits greatly from having weapons with high damage, to be able to take out Murkies in a single shot even after they've been dominated.
