As you can see, push-back flow rack delivers a high-density, dynamic storage solution in a condensed footprint like traditional push-back rack, but our flow system rack has several advantages. Mallard push-back flow rack takes advantage of the heavy-duty nature of flow rack and its low profile to allow for deep-lane applications that can double the capacity of traditional push-back pallet rack. Traditional push-back cart systems max out at 5-6 pallets deep, but Mallard's push-back flow rack can go up to 12 pallets deep. Also, using flow rails as opposed to carts requires less vertical clearance needed in the system, which can add as much as a full level of pallet storage in a deep-lane configuration In addition, system designers can choose from roller or wheeled flow rails to fully customize the system to meet capacity needs and pallet specs. Push-back flow rack is also accommodating for inventory on non-standard sized pallets. Like traditional push-back rack, the pallets are loaded and unloaded from the same aisle. SKUs can also be varied by lane and level within the system as with traditional push-back rack. However, with gravity flow rack, the lane can be accessorized to assist the forklift driver in controlling the speed and back pressures of the rear pallets as they advance forward in the lane. Besides pitch adjustments, push-back flow systems can be equipped with speed controllers to slow the flow of the pallets as they flow to the aisle for extraction… this is especially critical in deep-lane configurations. We also recommend adding bolt-on ramp stops to the lanes to secure the front position (pick face) pallet in the lane until safely extracted by the forklift. The bolt-on design of our ramp stops means a quick, inexpensive repair should the stop be damaged at some point.
