How to Sell Your Music for Commercials - Tips episode 32

http://soundmusicbusiness.com/how-to-... Ever thought..."I could write a better jingle than that?" If so, this post is for you! Hey this is Anthea Palmer from Sound Music Business with a questions for you. Have you ever listened to the radio or watched television and come across a commercial, and thought…this really sucks the big one, and I could do write a much better jingle or a much better sound track than this. Well if you have thought that to yourself, perhaps it’s time that you consider selling your music for commercial purposes. These days there are so many opportunities, not on the TV and Radio commercial opportunities, but there’s also computer games, computer software, the cable channels, and of course corporate presentations and corporate training. So there are four main places that you can pitch your music to, and that’s the (1) advertising agencies (2) the production companies, (3) the TV and Radio stations directly, and of course (4) the corporations directly. If you’re putting together a demo of your existing music, it should be less than five minutes long, they probably won’t listen to any more than five minutes, and make sure that it really demonstrates your versatility. Have five to ten tracks of different genres, different styles. The earning potential can be anywhere from $1,600 for a basic radio commercial, to $26,000 if you’re lucky enough to nail a movie soundtrack. So three’s lots of money to be made. I have put together a FREE Report which is downloadable. It tells you who to pitch to, how to pitch and outlines some of the pitfalls. You can access that FREE information directly from this post. I’m Anthea Palmer from Sound Music Business. Onward and upward!
