Ted Flato, FAIA, Co-Founder and Principal of Lake | Flato Architects, is known for his straight-forward, regional designs that leverage each unique site to connect people to the natural environment. Flato also developed the Lake | Flato Porch House, born from the simplicity of vernacular architecture. Ted's designs include the AIA National Award-winning Blue Lake Retreat residence; the Whitcomb Art Building; and the master plan and design for Phoenix’s Children & Family Garden Education Center. Lake | Flato has received over 270 international, national and regional architectural awards - including the national AIA Architecture Firm Award, ten AIA COTE Project Awards, the LOCUS Global Award for Sustainable Architecture and was inducted into Interior Design’s Hall of Fame. Lake | Flato has consistently been ranked in Architect’s Top 50 Overall and Sustainable Architecture Firms, and was named one of the Ten Most Innovative Architecture Firms in the World by Fast Company.
