Write your 1st paragraph Summarize your KEY RESULTS and relate them to the RESEARCH GAP or edge of current knowledge before you did this work. Needs more explanation to be understood c. Is surprising or UNEXPECTED d. Raises a lot of questions e. You need or want to expand on 3. For each notable result, write 1 paragraph (maybe 2) That (include any that apply): a. EXPLAINS/ANALYZES that result b. RELATES it to the FIELD c. RELATES it to the RESEARCH GAPS d. SPECULATES about new state of field e. Provides FUTURE DIRECTIONS 3a. Critically ANALYZE that result What does that result MEAN? i.e., TRANSLATE direct output of work (data) into meaningful text. Consider ALTERNATIVE explanations of your results. Highlight any trends, relationships, and limitations 3b. RELATE to the FIELD How does this work fit into the existing literature? What work supports this result? What work might contradict this result? Which might be more accurate? Why? How does this address any RESEARCH GAPS? 3c. SPECULATE about the new state of the field Can you ask new research questions or form new hypotheses? What has changed now that your work exists? 3d. FUTURE directions How might new research questions be addressed? What directions might this or related work take in the future? 4. Write your CONCLUSION One forward-thinking paragraph that highlights the IMPACT of your paper and why it deserves to be PUBLISHED. I.e., what does my work do to advance my field? The world?
