Dr. David Reardon moderates a cancer immunotherapy expert panel with Drs. Susanne Baumeister, Justin F. Gainor, and Kimmie Ng on the latest scientific and clinical research in immunotherapy. https://www.cancerresearch.org/summit #CRIsummit David Reardon, M.D., serves as clinical director at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's Center for Neuro-Oncology and is a professor at Harvard Medical School. He specializes in brain cancers, such as glioblastoma. Susanne Baumeister, M.D., is a pediatric hematologist-oncologist in Boston, Massachusetts, affiliated with Boston Children’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and holds a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School. She specializes in childhood blood cancers. Justin F. Gainor, M.D. is an attending physician in the Center for Thoracic Cancers at the Mass General Hospital Cancer Center and an instructor in medicine at Harvard Medical School. He specializes in lung and esophageal cancers. Kimmie Ng, M.D., MPH, is the founding director of the Young-Onset Colorectal Cancer Center and director of clinical and biospecimen research in the Center for Gastrointestinal Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. She specializes in colorectal and gastrointestinal cancers. During the panel, Dr. Ng shared, “The most transformative thing for me is that metastatic cancer may actually be curable with this new type of treatment. This is a response and the durability of a response we have never seen before.” The 2019 CRI Immunotherapy Summit in Boston was held at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute on July 27, 2019. Cancer Research Institute Immunotherapy Patient Summits are free half-day Saturday events that provide a forum for patients, caregivers, and advocates to meet together along with scientific and healthcare experts to learn more about how new breakthroughs in immunotherapy are changing standards of care for all cancers.
