Our overnight stay in the mountain village of Hogsback was a truly enchanting experience. The journey from Alice to Hogsback captivated us with its breathtaking sights from a winding mountain road surrounded by lush, vibrant green forests. As we arrived in the village, the setting sun cast a fairytale-like glow over the picturesque landscape. We secured our supplies and settled into the cosy warmth of King's Lodge, where a delightful dinner awaited us. The next morning, fuelled by a satisfying breakfast, we embarked on an adventure to explore this captivating village. Our first stop was The Edge Mountain Retreat, offering awe-inspiring panoramic views from its lofty vantage point. Eager to immerse ourselves in the local art scene, we ventured to the Eco-Shrine, where we marvelled at the exquisite outdoor artworks with amazing views. Our journey continued to St Patrick-On-The-Hill, a magnificent church that left us spellbound with its stunning ambiance and setting.
