This lift was originally installed in the 1980's ahead of the Metrocentre opening. It was then modernised by Thyssenkrupp in 2005. It did not get modernised by Schindler using Hydroware in 2017, unlike a lot of other lifts in the centre. This lift is now looking a little worn with faded indicators. The light also needs replacing as it is very dark. The lift runs ok but sometimes hits things in the shaft. The main lift in this car park, originally Furse, then modernised by Thyssenkrupp in 2004, is currently being replaced by Kone. This lift does not normally get much use but will be getting a bit more whilst the main lift is closed. The other lift in the car park, with hydroware mod from Schindler, gets even less use as it is right at the back. I wonder whether this lift will be next in line for replacement or whether it will survive given its low use.
