I used this song because the loudness that grows towards the end, in my mind, symbolizes Mary’s mental state. It’s meant to be unsettling. It’s also meant to be Mary transitioning from being 'thrown into the storm' to 'becoming the storm'. The lyrics were the reason for the choice. Also, something interesting about Mary's portrayal in The Tudors that I tried to show in this video was her relationship with Chapoys. This was the only man who shows her constant kindness in her weakest moments. In a way he is her true father. Having him, a staunch catholic, as a father figure no doubt impacted Mary, in the show at least. If an authority figure that she respects has certain beliefs, it's quite easy to understand why Mary shares his convictions.
