Finding Balance with Vishvapani

How can we find balance in our lives? We tend to think of mindfulness just as a form of meditation - but it can also be an overall approach to daily life, which helps us find balance in our frantic world. At this special event, meditation teacher and Buddhist writer Vishvapani will explore how we can cultivate mindfulness and expand this to support other helpful habits, including making wise choices, responding to difficult situations and living more ethically. Vishvapani brings a calm reasonableness and has lots of inspiring ideas to help us improve our mental states and contribute to a more caring society. He'll help you find the courage to cope with uncertainty, overcome challenges and cultivate more inner peace. This conversation with Dr Mark Williamson was recorded at a live Action for Happiness event on the 18th of June 2024 https://actionforhappiness.org. About The Speaker Vishvapani is a writer and teacher of mindfulness, with special interest in the relevance of Buddhism to the modern world. He discovered meditation aged 14 and became a Buddhist soon after. His practice has been focused on the Triratna Buddhist Order which he became a member of in 1992. He founded Dharma Life Magazine in 1996 and edited it until 2005. Vishvapani is author of "Gautama Buddha: the Life and Teachings of the Awakened One" and "Challenging Times". He writes on Buddhist themes for various publications and has been a regular contributor to BBC Radio 4’s Thought for the Day since 2006. He teaches through Mindfulness in Action, offering open courses as well as coaching with offenders, business schools and public sector bodies. He is an Associate of Breathworks Mindfulness and The Mindfulness Initiative and a founder member of Mindfulness Wales.
