Carolyn Wonderland at the Ogden Music Festival, Ogden, Utah, June 4, 2022

I've been a fan of Carolyn Wonderland for years and was thrilled she was booked at this local festival. Back in the 90's, Carolyn played a local club, "The Dead Goat Saloon," quite often. The "Dead Goat" was located in downtown Salt Lake across from the old Salt Palace, or as the bumper sticker said, "Just a hop, skip, and a prayer south of temple square." Those were some SPECIAL nights! The club's owner, John Paul Brophy, is a great guy and as a stalwart supporter of the blues and live music, he and Carolyn have a special relationship. She even wrote a song about he and his club, talking about how "John Paul's house was sacred" and there was "too much soul to hide in a downtown bar". So when you hear me holler "Dead Goat Saloon" around the 17:00 minute mark, that's what it's about. I was hoping she'd play the song for the Utah audience, but she was playing songs from her new smokin' album "Tempting Fate."
