SCENE STEALER: Aussie teen actress Angourie Rice discusses The Nice Guys and the realities of going Hollywood. It's quite possible that Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling believe that they're the stars of the crime comedy The Nice Guys, yet billed right under them is Angourie Rice, a Melbourne teenager who steals her share of scenes right from under them. She did much the same opposite Nathan Phillips in the Zak Hilditch film These Final Hours, an Australian apocalyptic drama about the last hours on earth. And in Nowhere Boys, which she made right after The Nice Guys, she managed to take the film from the regular cast who had worked so hard to make the show a major TV hit. In this special two-part interview Angourie discusses what it was like being exposed to Hollywood filmmaking, her burgeoning career, the pitfalls of fame, the importance of family and what her plans are for the future. She also has a heartening regard for the style of classic Hollywood stars. The interview took place during the summer holidays in the presence of her mother, writer/actress Kate Rice.
