Eerst de gele kwikstaart die dit weekend massaal in Nederland arriveerde na een lange trektocht vanuit het zuiden. Ze liepen massaal naar insecten te zoeken in de Biesbosch. Dan de witte kwikstaart die al iets langer terug is in Nederland en soms zelfs helemaal niet weg is geweest deze winter. Zowel de gele als de witte kwikstaart broedt op het platteland. De grote gele kwikstaart tenslotte, is veel minder algemeen. Deze soort broedt in Nederland alleen in Limburg en langs de Nederlands-Duitse grens waar nog beekjes stromen. In de winter kom je je de grote gele kwikstaart ook in het westen van het land tegen. En dus ook in Bleskensgraaf waar ik 'mijn' grote gele kwikstaart filmde. First the yellow wagtail that arrived en masse in the Netherlands this weekend after a long trek from the south. They were looking for insects in the Biesbosch en masse. Then the white wagtail that has been back in the Netherlands a little longer and sometimes hasn't left at all this winter at all. Both the yellow and white wagtail breed in the countryside. Finally, the grey wagtail is much less common. In the Netherlands, this species only breeds in Limburg and along the Dutch-German border where streams still flow. In winter you will also encounter the grey wagtail in the west of the country. And so also in Bleskensgraaf, where I filmed 'my' large yellow wagtail.
