The fortieth episode of Boss Analysis. Retaining your place at the top of the pile isn't easy, everyone and their boss-slaying dog wants to push you off and dethrone you. Many final bosses understand this pain all too well. Not only have they got countless others craving the position, but they've also got the many, many players of the game who want to cut them down to size to triumph over the game. And the sad thing is, not all of them can reclaim their former glory. Perhaps to prove how powerful the main heroes have become, some final bosses will show up later in a sequel in a diminished role. Maybe a new villain has come along that makes the old final boss look pale in comparison - in the age of progress, not everyone is able to keep up, and whatever the reason is, that's the main topic of today's Boss Analysis, as I go over my favourite "demoted final bosses".
