2019 Buick Envision Test Drive Review: A Luxury Value, Fighting For Relevance

For 2019, Buick has made some changes to its midsize Envision SUV in order to keep it competitive in a crowded segment. Updated styling make the Envision look wider and more aggressive, while changes under the hood sees torque increase from 260 to 296 lb-ft with horsepower remaining the same at 252 hp. Power is now sent out through a smooth nine-speed automatic transmission co-developed with Ford, making the Envision one of the quietest and smoothest SUVs in the segment. With a starting price of under $32,000 and an as-tested price of just over $48,000, the Envision is a relative bargain compared to pricier German competitors. It lacks the badge recognition of its rivals, and its production in China may cause some issues, but if you're after a comfortable, affordable midsize SUV, the Envision is worth a look.
