I spent some time Railfanning at Cantara Loop before heading to Dunsmuir, CA I managed to get a few trains at the Loop. Right after I decided to head over to the Amtrak Dunsmuir Station. A few more UP Freight trains showed up. And did a crew change before leaving. I continued north from Dunsmuir, CA And chase the ZLCBR north of Black Butte, CA Dunsmuir is a great spot to watch trains. It only gets 2 Amtrak Coast Starlights Trains daily both directions. Also Dunsmuir has a crew change point for UP freight Trains going each direction. Just right across from the Dunsmuir Amtrak Station Union Pacific Railroad has there office for railroad employees. And crews to get really to do crew changes on a train. As to the north The Union Pacific Black Butte Subdivision runs from Dunsmuir, CA- Klamath Falls OR. And from the south The UP Valley Subdivision begins from Dunsmuir, CA-Roseville, CA) Enjoy!
