A Sailing Adventure - Hawkesbury to Grenville Bay

This video is about a Melonseed skiff sailing adventure from Hawkesbury, Ontario (Ile du Chenail launch ramp) to Baie Grenville on May 31st, 2024. The skiffs Grenville and Beyefendi explored the entrance of the Grenville Canal before sailing up to the shore of Baie Grenville where we had lunch. The east setting Ottawa River current is much stronger here than on the Lake of Two Mountains. This current and the westerly winds made for a challenging beat upstream. After lunch, we sailed back across the river and followed the shoreline 'round the south side of Hamilton Island before fetching up at the Hawkesbury launch ramp. A lively debrief was held afterwards at Tim Hortons where the crews celebrated their successful cruise with coffee and donuts.
