With the Winds and water conditions not conducive for Lure fishing i head to Seaford to see if i can at least find some clearer water. Its late July and i am yet to catch a mackerel from the Beach. Despite growing up in the 80s I appreciate the world has moved on and i fully recommend a PFD. Here you are just as likely to catch and be in safety standing well back from the shoreline on the Beach. Remember there are more humane ways to land mackerel as pointed out in the video.Single hook lures really help us appreciate the mackerels speed and power. Sabiki type rigs more effective but when snagged, like today can make the whole rig set up a mess. This is also true when using braid. So i'd use mono when possible.
