The role of Assessment in Teaching and Learning Processes Rolla Hallak Online learning during Covid-19 pandemic has created the challenge of evidencing learning and collecting reliable data about the development of what students know, understand, and can do. Therefore, assessment has witnessed a shift towards more realistic tasks that require learners to use and apply knowledge they can easily have access to. During this session, participants will explore the role of assessment in teaching and learning processes, examine the attributes of assessment-capable teachers and learners, and get engaged in strategies of effective and authentic assessment practices that might better define an assessment culture. Rola Hallak PYP coordinator Rola Hallak has been a PYP educator for fifteen years and a workshop leader for ten years. Throughout this time, she has been a teacher and a PYP facilitator in two IB authorized schools in Lebanon. Currently, she is the PYP Coordinator at Emirates National School, Dubai.
