They are fierce, fun, fabulous, foxy. And there are forty...for now. Forty stunning official candidates of the Bb. Pilipinas 2011 take center stage on Sunday, April 10 at the Araneta Coliseum in the most magnificent spectacle that the pageant has seen in all its 48 years of existence. Bb. Pilipinas Charities Inc. Chair Stella Marquez-Araneta is excited by the innovations that will be implemented during the Grand Coronation Night. "The forty girls will be presented in a way that will highlight their beauty and elegance in production numbers that are both classy as they are young," enthused Mrs. Araneta. The Grand Coronation Night will be the culmination of almost four months of searching for the most beautiful Filipinas based here and abroad. In January, droves of girls trooped to the BPCI offices to file their applications. After the initial screening, 112 applicants made it to the first list. These 112 applicants underwent four stringent screening sessions under the scrutinizing eyes of the BPCI Board and reigning and past Bb. Pilipinas queens including Ms. Universe-Philippines 2010 Venus Raj and Ms. International Precious Lara Quigaman. Finally, forty of the loveliest girls emerged as official candidates and were formally presented to the press at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila. The next few weeks after that became a flurry of charity visits, talent presentations, photo shoots, sponsors visits, fashion shows, parades, trainings and fittings. Finally, on Sunday, April 10, three deserving winners to the prestigious titles of Bb. Pilipinas-Universe, Bb. Pilipinas-International and Bb. Pilipinas-Tourism will be known. The Coronation Night will be hosted by Derek Ramsey and KC Concepcion together with Bb. Pilipinas queens Miriam Quiambao and Precious Lara Quigaman. Johnny Manahan directs. Among the most awaited portions is the Swimsuit Competition where the girls will flaunt their fabulous figures in sexy swimsuits. Another is the Long Gown competition where the poise and elegance of the ladies will be put a test as they parade clad in beautiful gowns and shod in high stilettos. Surprise production numbers complete the evening of glamour and beauty. Along with the prestige and thrill of being proclaimed as representatives to international beauty competitions is the grand showcase of prizes. This includes a management contract worth Php 500,000 from the Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc., scholarships from the Entrepreneur School of Asia, Dale Carnegie Training Center, and Berlitz Language Center, a trip to the Ms. Universe / Ms. International headquarters, personal accident insurance worth Php 2 million from Philippine Charter Insurance Corporation, wardrobe package and free membership from Gold's Gym. The victorious ladies will also enjoy a year's supply of Cream Silk products, the beauty queens' secret to their beautiful hair. In sum, each of the winning ladies stands to take home an enviable prize package in cash and kind worth more than 4 million pesos! The Special awards will also be given out during pageant night. These include Ms. Cream Silk from Unilever, "The Face of Binibining Pilipinas", People's Choice, Ms. Philippine Airlines, Best in Swimsuit, Best in Long Gown, Ms. Friendship and Ms. Talent.
