How Muslim women are allowed to practice hijab is being dictated by laws from France to India to Iran. Both sides of the same patriarchal coin, there's a hijab ban preventing Muslim women from wearing hijab in one nation and on the other hand, so-called "morality police" are forcing Muslim women to wear hijab in the other country. The practice of wearing hijab/khimar has become hotly contested around the world. Throw in arm chair activists into the mix and you have people running to "free" the women of Iran from being "oppressed". What many people fail to realize is that while forcing women to cover is wrong, it is equally wrong to not allow women the right to choose to cover. Islam teaches that there is no compulsion in religion. Give Muslim women the grace to practice their faith in a manner of their own choosing. We condemn the brutal killing of our sister Mahsa Amini. We condemn the anti-Muslim hijab bans in place worldwide.
