Recording Acoustic Drums with the Tama Club Jam (Mini Kick Drum Test)

Recording drums can be the most awful experience or it can be extremely rewarding with great results. In the past couple of decades I have had mixed results recording a drum kit. The most valuable lesson I have taken on board is that 1, The kit needs to sound good in the room. 2, You do not need hundreds of mics. 3, Use a good drummer who can play evenly and to time. 4, Take your time to get it right from the recording stage. 5, Remember to use your ears! In this video, I decided to test out the Tama Club Jam mini kick drum. Its an 18inch drum with half the depth size of a usual kick drum. Please join me on this experiment day in the recording studio! Happy recording to you all! Martin Please remember to subscribe and like! Thank you!
