I don't understand how so many covers of this get the bass line wrong... it's the whole driving force of the song I go through phases of liking this song more, then Miracle Matter more... I'm on the 0² side of it rn so that's what's getting posted first. believe it or not there are only two non-restored instruments here: the "starship" sound at the beginning, and the synth bass. the bass in particular is especially frustrating because while it's definitely an in-house sample... I just want it so bad!!! it's so iconic and they even used it in beta tracks for Return to Dream Land/Adventure Wii!! let me have it!!!!!! now that that's out of my system, I wanted to say how fun it was recreating the beats and loops into their separate parts. the phased ride that sweeps left and right was surprisingly difficult to get right, and even now it's not as phase-y as I'd like, but it's 90% of the way there. the guitar that jumps left and right was much easier, though it took a lot of back-and-forth listening to the original samples to get the notes and volumes just right. but you know what ELSE took a lot of listening? -̶M̶Y̶ ̶M̶O̶M̶ the main drum loop... there were more layers to it than I expected, and getting the volumes right took forreevveerrrrr. but now I think they're perfect! Miracle Matter and boss theme restorations are in the works, but they need a bit more tuning before they're upload-worthy. I'm restoring a lot of other stuff from this game too just for fun...
