Abigail will be talking about diet culture, and why it’s more toxic and dangerous than we think it is. In Abigail’s speech, she will also be talking about how we, as a society, can reconstruct our minds and views on diet culture and body image to shape a more inclusive, loving, and accepting world. Abigail Siregar is a junior at Jakarta Intercultural School. Aside from being a dancer, writer, avid reader, and extreme foodie, she is also an activist who loves immersing herself in sociopolitical issues and advocating for change, justice, and equity whenever she can. At TEDXYOUTH JIS, Abigail will be speaking about toxic diet culture, what it means to succumb to the beauty standards society imposes on us, and how we can rewire our minds to do otherwise.
