STOCKPORT INTERCHANGE & WEIR MILL | Comment & Criticism 4K Drone Views

In this update of AidanEyewitness we take a look at the progress of the two major construction projects currently in progress in Stockport Town Centre West. Both are scheduled for completion in 2024. 00:00 Introduction by AidanEyewitness 00:35 Stockport Transport Interchange 03:27 Weir Mill renovation & construction 04:24 Stockport's magnificent railway viaduct 05:50 Criticism of one aspect of the Weir Mill renovation 07:00 The River Mersey and intersecting lines 09:00 Intersecting lines on the map 10:00 Positive aspects of the Transport Interchange 10:27 Summing up and conclusion They are the Transport Interchange and the conversion of Weir Mill. Using some drone shots we will study the two construction sites to gain a better understanding of the layout. We’ll see the progress of construction, which on both sites is well advanced. There has been criticism of both projects. People have complained that the residential building above the transport interchange is too tall and massive. Someone said it should have been built right next to the station, but there is a reason why that would not have been feasible. My personal criticism is directed against one major feature of the Weir Mill construction site, the tall block which they have placed right in front of the railway viaduct, preventing a clear, uninterrupted view of the upper part of the Grade 2* structure for the first time since it was opened in December 1840. I will have more to say about this in future videos. The entire video is made in 4K. If you are having playback problems, try adjusting the quality down from 2160p to 1440p and below. Many thanks to Cinemaker for the drone shots. Check out his channel @cinemaker
