Fremantle to Mandurah Line Through Service (incl. Fremantle to Claremont B-Series Journey)

On Sunday the 16th of June 2024, there was another Heritage Line Day Shutdown with Fremantle Line trains running to Perth Underground. At around 3:30PM, an event at RAC arena concluded, and so Transperth decided to add extra trains to support the people leaving the event. However, since Perth Underground was already occupied with the Fremantle Line trains in between the Mandurah Line trains, this meant that the trains from Fremantle continued through and down the Mandurah Line, which is so cool!! The only time this would have happened in the past would be with express services from West Leederville after a Domain Stadium event, but to come all the way from Fremantle, that is extremely rare. In this video we start at Fremantle and film the journey to Claremont, since this section is not often operated by B-series trains except when there is a Heritage Line Shutdown, before resuming the video at City West, where the train departs and crosses over to the Joondalup/Mandurah Line tracks behind RAC arena to head into Perth Underground. They even had the announcement play saying that the train will continue through, which I am really surprised they did. This is such an odd service to run considering the close station spacing of the Fremantle Line compared to the great distances between stations on the Mandurah Line running down the median of the Kwinana Freeway. We end the video at Cockburn Central where the train terminated, after having spent almost an hour on it in a big upside-down U shape all the way from Fremantle to Mandurah. ‪@justinmaster86‬ was also there to check it out.
