Setting up a NAS is incredibly simple. We start by installing the hard drives into the enclosure. Once that's done, we connect the NAS via Ethernet (RJ45) to the router and power up the NAS. After a few minutes the NAS will power up and we will be able to use the Synology NAS finder tool to find the NAS on the network and configure it. From there we simply need to set up a storage pool, volume, and shared folders. Optionally, we can add users with different folder access permissions if you aren't the only one using your NAS. In total, the process takes about 20-30 minutes and is extremely straightforward. IMPORTANT: Video editors: If you are thinking about editing 4K video directly off of the NAS, consider upgrading your home network to 10Gb.
