Clove oil is very rich in phenolic compounds that promote hair growth, improve scalp health and prevent premature graying of hair. Clove (Syzygium aromaticum) in general has very high antioxidant and antimicrobial activities. It has been used for centuries as a natural food preservative and for many medicinal purposes. Examples of phenolic compounds found in cloves : eugenol, eugenol acetate, gallic, caffeic, ferulic, elagic and salicylic acids. To make my clove oil I used 350 mL of organic extra virgin olive oil and about 35 grams of cloves.
