The KSRTC Airavat is allowed to pass through the Bandipur Forest at night time as this is the only route towards Ooty. A limited number of buses are allowed, ie, two KSRTC Airavat buses, one KSRTC Sleeper bus & Two Kerala RTC Multiaxle buses. Apart from this no other vehicle is allowed to enter the forest post 6 pm. Get to witness the wildlife for free though this journey. The gate opens for normal traffic at 6 am.
