Tower of Pushing Objects

Verdict: 4/10 (Weak) Not sure what is going on with the Time-Lost Plain lobby, suddenly it is missing its music. At least the actual towers themselves are unaffected... for the moment. This one is interesting because it could have been in Ring 5 and instead Tower of Nice Views was put in. So this is a look at a classic tower that could have been. Sadly most of the music here is pretty stock stuff. We got Mario, we got Kubbi , we got Xtrullor, we got Waterflame. It is all names we have seen in JTOH before and I would say most of the music comes off as rather bland. Floor 10 is an odd surprise, we actually get vocals for once with a fitting finale song similar to "In the End". We need more of these, this is definitely the standout track of the tower. In general, this tower really is about floor 10. The name is in direct reference to the final challenge where you need to push a bunch of pushboxes to stand on top of them. It is a unique concept and stands out as a finale of a tower. It should be noted that there really isn't any clear communication as to there being an order to doing the pushboxes, but there is an intended order in its design. Doing them in the wrong order can lead to RNG bounces; I pretty much didn't realize there was an intended order until I had finished the tower. In general, this tower has some weirdness. We get a plinko machine, but the plinko machine doesn't work right as the ball would always be biased to go on the wrong side. This means the only way to progress is to essentially brute force your way through it and entirely ignore the plinko machine, rolling a ball over a gap and dropping it onto a button. It is just a horribly designed part. There is also another button challenge thing on floor 2, but the light pink button is weird as it never is clear if it is actually doing anything or not. It is obvious it does something as the ball otherwise rolls to the ground, but there is just no clear sense of communication at all. It is a case of spamming things until you realize what is going on and get it right. Once again, not really the best design. Speaking of that part, said button puzzle is also located high enough on floor 2 that you are likely to constantly be triggering the music of floor 3. It is just an awkward area. I love the semblance of a plot here. We need to get to floor 10 to get a jewel. For some reason this tower thinks it should be in Arcane Area. Said jewel is just a very crude decoration behind the winpad. There really is no reason to even include this plot, it achieves nothing. Whoever wrote the notes needed to abandon the jewel for some reason and we are left to take care of it somehow. The reason they abandoned it is to pursue their dreams. So this tower is essentially shackling us with the burden of standing on a platform and... taking care of a jewel somehow. We don't even get a finale message, the final message in this thing is just talking about getting the jewel tomorrow. Needless to say, not only is the plot meaningless, it doesn't really feel coherent. That isn't to say it is all bad. We have an x-pusher that is needed to push a platform out of a way. Somehow this just ended up becoming a single obstacle on a part that sounds like it was intended to have numerous things to push. And what even is the marble machine? We got a spinning part where it moves so fast that it can be a pain to climb up each floor without anything else really going on. We got some basic platform stuff. Probably the best thing in this tower is the "log" you need to hop on. There is also the balloon rise area with solid killbricks that make you need to actually maneuver the balloon. There is also the rotating 2x2 studs. This tower has some stuff, it isn't a total disaster. Floor 10 definitely is a satisfying final floor and there are some decent little obstacles here and there. At the same time, it is a very unpolished mess and has little weird issues. Between both is some filler stuff. I think Weak is the best way to describe this one; the issues aren't the most offensive and the good stuff isn't the most amazing. It has numerous glaring issues, but has a pretty notable finale and nothing here is frustrating enough to the point it becomes unplayable. I definitely prefer this over the Bad towers, though I would say that this is likely close to the borderline of Bad.
