Since the song's publication in the 1930s, it has been one of the most well-known pop song and folk song in Taiwan. The traditional pentatonic writing of the song creates unique and elegant melodies, which is widely deemed the iconic characteristics of Taiwan. After the composer, Guan Nai-Chung, rearranged the piece for orchestra, the music finally paints a fascinating scenery illuminated by the moonlight and gently reflects girls' desires. Besides, Pipa, Xiao, Erhu, and Guzheng taking turns playing solo enriches the romantic and touching sentiments of the original.
