Kelucharan Mohapatra was a legendary Indian classical dancer, Guru, and exponent of Odissi dance, who is credited with the revival and popularizing of this classical dance form in the 20th century. He is the first person to receive the Padma Vibhushan from Odisha. As the disciple and daughter-in-law of the late Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, Sujata Mohapatra inherited his devotion and passion for the classical dance form. Eighteen years of rigorous training under the guidance of her guru eventually moulded her from a devoted and diligent disciple into a graceful performer. This performance footage is a combination of the performance by Kelucharan Mohapatra in the year 2001 and by Sujata Mohapatra in the year 2019 originally for Parampara Series in New Delhi.
