Gospel Plow, Bob Thornburg. Clawhammer Banjo Solo.

Bob Thornburg, a builder of custom gourd and grain measure banjos, also happens to have one of the great right hands in clawhammer-style banjo playing. Notice the power his right hand generates effortlessly through the repetitive "bum-ditty" motion. While Bob acknowledges the influence of West Virginia's Dwight Diller on his playing, Bob's own unique style combines a slowed-down, heavy rhythmic groove with slinky-bluesy melody notes that present the five-string banjo as a solo instrument complete in itself.
