March of the Titans: JLA/Titans: The Technis Imperative - Atop the Fourth Wall

Welcome to Atop the Fourth Wall, where bad comics burn. In this episode, Linkara looks at his favorite comic of all time! http://atopthefourthwall.com Originally uploaded March 11th, 2013. ORIGINAL INFO: The Titans retrospective continues with the Justice League of Jerks vs. the team with too many members! Oh, and the moon gets stolen. RUMINATIONS: I’m so happy that this episode scored so damn high in a viewer poll for favorite episodes. Technically ALL of March of the Titans did, but this one scored higher than the other March of the Titans episodes and that especially makes me happy. The thing about this line of work is that it’s much harder to talk about something good in the same kind of entertaining way that it is to talk about something bad. With something bad, you riff on it, you yell a bit if you especially dislike it, but good stuff? There’s only so many ways you can say “this is good, I love it” before it just starts to become annoying for the viewers. But JLA/Titans: The Technis Imperative is my favorite comic of all time, bar none, and the nice thing about superheroes is that there’s usually plenty of silliness going around that’ll give you material to riff on. Recently, Devin Grayson apparently saw this video and loved it, which warms my heart. While I haven’t liked EVERYTHING she’s written, her run of the Titans, which started with this comic, is what got me to start reading comics and getting me on this path to begin with, so getting that kind of praise is nothing short of amazing to me. I hate it when people try to point all my insulting, derogatory, hate-filled reviews at the creators behind the comics since… well… what do you expect them to say? Do you really think they’re going to see a video made by some asshole on the internet and they’ll suddenly turn around and say, “Oh my God, you’re right! It WAS a piece of trash! I will go back in time and make sure it doesn’t suck!”? No, it’s just being rude. If they want to see it, they’ll track it down – it’s just being kind of a jerk. Now, you want to show POSITIVE reviews, like with this video or Longbox of the Damned, go right ahead! Everybody loves a bit of positive reinforcement, even if it’s for older material.
