I had never been to an all inclusive resort before I went to secrets in Jamaica. I was there for a wedding in October 2022. Overall, it was a fun trip, and the weather was perfect. The people were nice. The facility was not entirely what I expected. There were some questionable maintenance items. I did get to snorkel a lot, which I really enjoyed. But the windsurfing and parasailing was not available because “the boat was broken” and “something was wrong with the boards”. The view was spectacular, the drinks were tasty, the food was plentiful (but it lacked something). Much of it tasted premade. My room flooded twice from the sewer pipes. That was unpleasant. They did comp one night of my stay which I didn’t ask for. So that was cool. (I tried to negotiate up to two nights to no avail.) I would go back. I probably would try another resort just to get another experience, but if there was no other resort available, I would just calibrate myself on what to expect.
