If you’re looking for the latest luxury playing cards project on kickstarter look no further than this episode for a peek at a fantastically luxurious and functional deck from Magician Ondrej Psenicka. The butterfly playing cards black represent the third iteration of the deck with the first and second editions, blue and red respectively being first made available dating back to crowdfunding campaigns in late 2016. Those first two editions came packaged in a monotone wrapping paper with round sticker seal. The tuck cases of the gold and silver editions of the butterfly deck do mirror the older blue and red versions although they of course do include some differences. The black tucks are printed on robust premium matte cardstock and feature foil stamping in the corresponding color of the deck. The front include the silhouette of the butterfly found on the earlier incarnations. The sides and back are blank save for the foil ribbon that wraps all the way around the bottom of the decks. The top reads butterfly playing cards and the bottom includes some standard deck information including The edition size and name, creator Ondrej Psenicka’s country of origin, the name of the designer and printer info. Interestingly both gold and silver versions read prototype black and gold regardless of color. There is no seal on the flap. The flap itself, as is the case with the smaller side flaps--includes additional gold foil details--elements sampled from the back design.
