All 3 giant pumpkin plants now have a pumpkin pollinated on them!! I have trained the vines to allow space for a massive pumpkin to grow on each plant. I placed plywood boards down with sand on top for each pumpkin to grow on. The board gives the pumpkin a solid surface and prevents critters from getting under the pumpkin. The sand provides drainage and helps the pumpkin slide as it grows. The 2501 Bernstrom plant is still doing well, the 1005 Clementz plant is hopefully starting to gain momentum and the 1643 New plant might be a lost cause.
