Castlevania: Rondo of Blood -- Bonus: Richter and Annette (English)

Okay, okay, so I'll be merciful and let you off the hook now... although you already knew that would be the case... I was just having a little fun by changing up the order slightly as to withhold the actual translation, seeing as how that'd completely wreck my equal-opportunist fun with the Maria version of that scene. That's a perfectly reasonable excuse, right? Personally, I'm a little more weirded out that they seriously made a joke about Richter needing to shed some blood because he has too much, considering the seriousness of the situation... but, y'know... the writers are already just a little off their rockers given how we examined the meaning and potential for wordplay in the game's title... oh, you masterful punsters, you! You slay us! (You really might... hrrghghhhh...) Though I must say... there's one particular line in there that was uncomfortably close to what I came up with for Richter to be saying. But fear not! That is merely the burning passion of a true hunter's heart of fire! Clearly we mustn't read any bizarre subtext or fanfiction off just ONE line, right?! (Please, don't... I'm sorry, okay?!) I also want to reiterate for the sake of noting weird little details... Annette only cries when she wants Richter to stay with her and not fight Dracula. She's stalwart and stolid in her belief that Richter will save her, even when confronted with Dracula himself... but then chooses the moment he actually DOES come to save her (which, as we know, he literally did NOT have to do) to break down at the notion that he will actually follow through and... finish saving her. Okay, sure...? I mean, what good is being rescued and taken to safety (assuming they could even get that far) if he could just as easily kidnap you again? Or wouldn't even need to, since he's going to go ahead and conquer everything to make "a bad world full of evil"! Let's be reasonable and think things through! Gosh! She also doesn't show the same level of concern about Maria choosing to do the very same thing and just seems to dismiss it in apparent amusement. Do NOT let children go off to fight Dracula, lady... c'mon! Of course, Maria is... like... even in-universe levels broken, so... uh... maybe Annette is aware of this and just doesn't want Richter to go because he'll have a harder time. Let's just let that little girl take out the nasty mean ol' man!
