Wayne Shorter (born August 25, 1933) is an American jazz saxophonist and composer. He became known as member and composer of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers and later went on to join Miles Davis in his Second Great Quintet in the 1960’s. Later he founded Weather Report. He won 10 Grammy awards and recorded more than 20 albums.
