It was why so many of us flocked to these games, to enjoy not only being told a story but telling it ourselves through gameplay. In this admittedly self-indulgent rant, I delve into why I think videogames, and assassin's creed specifically, need a distinction between story and storytelling when being thought of and criticised. I argue that even though the story (narrative) of some ac games are bad or mediocre, the storytelling you can experience through the open world and your gameplay can completely bolster your narrative experience. Assassin's Creed Unity is an action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft.
