Simplify, simplify, simplify! (by Henry David Thoreau) We recently created our will (testament), getting our life's documents in order. It's surprising how many avoid this task, as if it's a taboo. A will helps us to clear mental clutter. Sorting out paperwork is part of creating a peaceful home. When paperwork is under control, it reduces stress. In this video, I talk about: 1. Organizing life’s papers 2. Downsizing 3. Designing a peaceful home 4. Cozy minimalism 5. Renovation I will share photos of our downsizing journey on Instagram:   / c1v_msmi9k-   Declutter something today? ✨ Have a wonderful day! ✨ #minimalistliving #minimalism #silentvlogs #simpleliving #familyminimalism #minimalismjourney #downscaling #scalingdown #decluttering #home #cozyminimalism #warmminimalism #interiordesign #howto #tips #declutterwithme #downsizingjourney #subtitles #relaxing #relaxingmusic #calm #motivation #howto #home #aging #minimalist #motivation #peacefulmusic #peaceofmind At the end of the video, I demonstrated the fascinating 'hot water toss' experiment in extremely cold temperatures. I always always always throw the hot water away from myself and others, and I only attempt this experiment in extremely cold conditions. Also, I check that there's no wind. I want to also share an interesting passage I read from Paul Bowles (The Sheltering Sky, year 1949 novel): “When I was young” … “Before I was twenty, I mean, I used to think that life was a thing that kept gaining impetus, it would get richer and deeper each year. You kept learning more, getting wiser, having more insight, going further into the truth” – she hesitated. Port laughed abruptly. – “And now you know it’s not like that. Right? It’s more like smoking a cigarette. The first few puffs it tasted wonderful, and you don’t even think of its ever being used up. Then you begin taking it for granted. Suddenly you realize it’s nearly burned down to the end. And then’s when you’re conscious of the bitter taste.”" In essence, this passage explores the contrast between youthful idealism and the sobering realization that life can become routine and transient. It serves as a reminder to appreciate and make the most of the time we have, as it can be easy to take life for granted until we reach a point where we become aware of its fleeting nature.
