Concertino in F major - Ernst Sachse The first movement of this composition is one of the most asked for solo pieces for bass trombone orchestral auditions in Europe. For the fun of it I recorded a new version of this using a play-along track so wonderfully played by Tomoko Sawano. There are already some great versions available with on top of them the videos by Brandt Attema with piano and Tomer Maschkovsky with orchestra. I recorded the complete Sachse 20 years ago for my cd First Song. As pensionado it’s quite a challenge to once again have this evergreen on the stand. It’s not the most difficult piece in our repertoire but at the same time it’s very difficult to play all the demanded technics clean, clear and with a musical sense.
