Ronnie Is in Trouble | Ronnie O'Sullivan vs Stephen Lee | 2006 Masters SF ‒ Snooker

Defending champion Ronnie O'Sullivan is far from his standard, but his will to win and defend his title keeps him focused on the match, waiting for a mistake by Stephen Lee to give him a chance to play his sixth Masters final. Erratum: the subtitles at the end of the video say it was John's first Masters when it was actually his second. He won the first in 1999 after beating Ken Doherty 10-8 in the final. My thanks to Umbreon Twinkle for the correction. Sidespin Rotation in the horizontal plane can be clockwise or counterclockwise. These are given different names depending on the subject/object involved: A) the cue ball itself: - Left-hand side (clockwise) - Right-hand side (counterclockwise) B) a cushion: - Running side - Reverse side (also known as Check side) slows down the cue ball when hitting a cushion due to friction, while the Running side favours the cue ball motion. C) an object ball: - Outside english - Inside english if you hit the right half of the OB, then Right-hand side would be Outside english; if you hit the left side of the OB, then playing with Left-hand side would also be Outside english. Some consider 'Outside' to be 'Running' and 'Inside' to be 'Reverse'. D) the spin transferred to an object ball: - Helping english - Hold Up english If the OB rotation is equivalent to the Running side on the CB, it is called Helping side. Some call "Helping english" to "Outside englsih" because Outside reduces throw and thus help cut thinner. In the video, Ronnie played with right-hand side, he hit the right half of the pink, so he also played with Outside english, and the cue ball slowed down on the side cushion; thus, Mike Hallett called it 'Check side' because the subject involved was a cushion. The statistics shown in the video correspond to the date of the match. Cesar Muroya created a unique editing technique to extract the essence of the game without losing the drama involved. Contextual information is also an innovation appreciated by viewers. This format is not intended to substitute the full version but rather to make snooker more accessible to new fans. The fluency and atmosphere of the game stay in a shorter length video, allowing even experienced fans to enjoy snooker at any time. ► Turn on notifications so you'll be notified of future videos and surveys. ► Choose a Playlist (counterattacks, tactical, incidents and more) here: https://www.youtube.com/CesarMuroya/P...
