New Castle Delaware House Fire Disclaimer: Raw footage, profanity used New Castle County is located on the most northern portion of Delaware with this fire taking place in greater New Castle. The New Castle County fire service is a combination fire/ems system which companies operate with in the parameters of a county wide SOG in relations to automatic aid and predetermined arrival assignments. This helmet cam footage is raw and uncut and show the actions of the ladder officer on the "first due special service." The task of the interior ladder crew is to search fire out for any form of life. This crew operated on the first floor only as mutual aid operated on the floor above. Author Note: This footage is for educational purposes. I grew up watching countless helmet cam videos as a young firefighter and would like to spread my experiences onto others. At the time, I was a 21 year old career firefighter/emt in a combination department. Not every fire is perfect and teaching points can be made after every incident. I learned a lot to give me the skills to operate as I did at the time of the fire and I learned a lot since then. Not every department is the same on staffing and operation tactics so what you see here may not be what you do at home and that's ok. Enjoy the clip.
