Railfanning around Chicagoland May 2024 (Ft. Southshore, IC, GTW, ATSF & More) (4K)

A goal of mine every time I have visited Chicago, was to railfan the lines around Chicagoland. Chicago is a great place for Heritage units, Fallen Flags, and stuff we typically don't get back where I live. I've either always missed or showed up after it went through. When planning this trip, ‪@GTRailFanProductions‬ & I discussed how we wanted to do this. With Him and ‪@Viloco_Valve_Productions‬ planning out what they wanted to do, and what was going to be operating when we were there, I would say this venture was successful. This video starts off on May 5th, and goes to May 8th. Yes it does technically start off in Hastings Minnesota on the 5th as we caught A CPKC Intermodal leaving. After that, we go right to Chicago Land. May 6th we would catch another CPKC Intermodal right before #2816 entered Bensenville. May 7th we would drive all over Chicago to catch some cool stuff, from Southshore, an Illinois Central Duo, with GTW, and other CN Power in Gary Indiana, to driving north to Rondout see a GTW EMD GP38. After that we would head for the BNSF Racetrack, and then venture south to Joliet to Catch a Blue Bonnet leading a local. On May 8th, we caught a CP Freight switching, as well as NS locomotive running long hood forward. Included as well, is anything else I filmed while filming this. It was fun Railfanning Chicago! Note if I ended a clip earlier it was for few reasons, Camera issue, or someone coming up to talk. Or the Train stopped. I also forgot to backup my Memory card the one night, so I was running on Limited Space. As we near the end of the 2816 adventure videos, we got two more left. A Metra Railfanning video, and one on the Other 765 in Gary Indiana. This Past weekend I made the Trek down to the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum for the first time since 2021. It was to chase the Doubleheader for #630 and #4501 so those videos of Summerville and the Missionary Ridge local are currently being edited. After this, nothing else is happening this summer except for the Reading & Northern #2102 Pittston excursion in August. Currently awaiting the #4014 Chicago schedule. As always stay tuned!
